Junk

by Paul McCartney.

Motor cars, handle bars
Bicycles for two
Broken hearted jubilee
Parachutes, army boots
Sleeping bags for two
Sentimental jamboree

Buy buy
Says the sign in the shop window
Why why
Says the junk in the yard

Candlesticks, building bricks
Something old and new
Memories for you and me

Buy buy
Says the sign in the shop window
Why why
Says the junk in the yard

She's Madonna

by Robbie Williams Feat Pet Shop Boys.

This song was inspired by a conversation Robbie Williams had with Guy Ritchie's ex-girlfriend Tania Strecker, about the way Ritchie left her for Madonna. Strecker quoted Ritchie as saying "Look, you know I really love you, but she's Madonna."

As for Strecker, you don't need to worry. She and Williams became a couple (ironic eh?) for a short period and today she is married to Anthony James de Rothschild, a member of the prominent Rothschild banking family of England.

Lyrics below the song.

I just laugh when I hear the line: "I love you baby, but face it - she's Madonna".

Sometime in the future I'll post 2 more songs by Robbie Williams that I love.

Oh, Madonna, Madonna

I don't miss you
just who
you used to be
and you don't ring true
so please
stop calling me
Your "I love you"'s
are ten a penny
You're dropping clues
like you've got any
You got to choose
There's been so many ohhhh

I love you baby
but face it she's Madonna
No man on earth
could say that he don't want her
This look of love
says I'm leaving
you're frozen now
I've done the freezing
I'm walking out
Madonna's calling me

She's got to be
obscene to be believed
That's her routine
Not what she means to me
I found myself
by circumstance
across a room
where people dance
And quite by chance
she' danced right next me

I love you baby
but face it she's Madonna
No man on earth
would say that he don't want her
It's me not you
I've got to move on
You're younger too
but she's got her groove on
I'm sorry love
Madonna's calling me

Oh, Madonna, Madonna

I want to tell you a secret

We're having drinks
with Kate and Stella
Gwyneth's here
she's brought her fella
But all I wanna do
is take Madonna home

I love you baby
but face it she's Madonna
No man on earth
would say that he don't want her
It's me not you
I've got to move on
You're younger too
but she's got her groove on
I'm sorry love
Madonna's calling me

popsickie

by Kai.

If I had to put only one video on my blog - this would be it.

Balloon Project Tel-Aviv

You fill up few balloons with helium.
You connect a camera to the balloons.
You release the balloons.

This is what comes up.

The balloons didn't fly over most of Tel Aviv's beautiful areas (like the beachfront or the white city), but just the way the idea became reality is so exciting.

The Man Who Sold The World

by Nirvana and David Bowie.

David Bowie wrote this song about his very confused self.

23 Years later, After Nirvana's famous performance of this song on MTV Unplugged, when Bowie performed the song himself he would encounter "kids that come up afterwards and say, 'It's cool you're doing a Nirvana song.'"

Lyrics after the video.

We passed upon the stair
We spoke of was and when
Although I wasn't there
He said I was his friend
Which came as a surprise
I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone
A long long time ago

Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You're face to face
With The Man Who Sold The World

I laughed and shook his hand
And made my way back home
I searched for form and land
For years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazeless stare
At all the millions here
We must have died alone
A long, long time ago

Who knows?
Not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With the Man Who Sold the World

Dream On

by Aerosmith.

It's been some time since I actually posted a song in my song-a-day blog, so to compensate for that, here is a true classic.

This is Aerosmith's first single from their first album, and it became their first hit. Released in 1973, this song appears in many "greatest songs" lists and it's probably Aerosmith's signature song (by wikipedia).

On September 19, 2006 Aerosmith dedicated the song to captured Israeli soldier Ehud Goldwasser.

Leave Israel Alone

by Orit.

I wanted to post this for awhile now...

From about the video: Inspired by Chris Crocker's infamous and passionate YouTube appeal for people to leave Britney alone in the wake of her failed performance at the MTV 2007 Music Video Awards, Orit from Israel has created a passionate appeal to the world community to LEAVE ISRAEL ALONE!

Below Orit's video is the original Chris Crocker's one.

DropClock

Dropclock is a beautiful clock screensaver that features numbers set in Helvetica dropping into water in super slow-motion.

It's a 150MB download, but it is so cooooool.
